Food
Indian food widely available in most college hostels. Dal, roti, sabzi available. Indian restaurants in all major cities.
Hostel
On-campus hostels with separate blocks for male and female students, security and dining halls at most colleges — facilities differ meaningfully between institutions, so ask the specific college, and where you can, a current student rather than a brochure.
Monthly Cost
Our working estimate is ₹15,000–25,000/month for hostel, food, transport and personal spending, lower end on-campus. This is our estimate from counselling experience, not an official figure — it will move with the city and how you live.
Connectivity
Indian SIM cards work in Nepal with roaming. Affordable local SIMs available. Good internet in colleges and cities.
Community
Large Indian student community at all major Nepal medical colleges. Cultural events, student associations, peer support.
Transport
Direct buses from Gorakhpur/Delhi (Sonauli border). Flights Delhi→Kathmandu available. No visa for Indian citizens.
Healthcare
Good hospitals in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Indian students have access to college hospital facilities during studies.
