NEET score and eligibility
Per NMC India FMGL Regulations 2021, minimum 50th percentile NEET (General/OBC) or 40th percentile (SC/ST) required to practice in India after foreign MBBS. Verify current rules at NMC before applying.
NMC India ↗College selection via MEC Nepal
All Nepal MBBS admissions are regulated by the Medical Education Commission (MEC Nepal). Select only MEC-approved colleges that are also NMC India recognised. Verify both lists before deciding.
MEC Nepal ↗Documents and application
Required: 10th and 12th marksheets (notarised), NEET scorecard, valid passport, medical fitness certificate, character certificate. Apply via the MEC Nepal official portal only.

MEC Nepal runs transparent seat-matching. Pay fees ONLY directly to the college — never to agents. Verify the official MEC fee ceiling at mec.gov.np before any payment.

Indian citizens do not need a visa for Nepal under the India–Nepal bilateral open border agreement. A valid Indian passport or Aadhaar card is sufficient. Direct buses and flights are available.

5.5 years total. After graduation: clear NExT or FMGE (by NBE India) and complete a one-year supervised internship in India, then receive the licence to practice medicine in India.
